Poppies Sewing Kit

Inspired by a Vancouver Modern Quilt Guild member mini-class on matchstick quilting, I selected a small pieced quilt top I had made for the cover. After years of storing my most essential tools in a ziploc, I created a custom tool roll based for my favourite hand sewing and mending tools.

I opted to leave an open spot above my snips for a future tool addition.

Poppies Sewing Kit contains (from left to right) one clear zippered pocket, one yellow felt pocket (and velcro tab) for thread snips, pillow for needles with underside pocket for hera marker, long needle storage and elastics holding seam ripper/awl, chalk roller, thread spools and beeswax.

Felt, nickel hardware, zipper, cotton canvas, unknown batting scrap, velcro. Machine pieced, machine quilted. Machine and hand-bound.

This is my quilt object for the month of March in 2023.
